ChillabHunts, a California-based consulting firm, has launched a new drug to treat high blood pressure that has been shown to be more effective than the popular Viagra, according to a press release from the firm.

The firm’s first-quarter results showed a 5.9% decrease in the risk of heart attack and stroke with Viagra, according to a press release.

The drug, called Sildenafil, is the first approved in the U. S. and the first oral drug to treat high blood pressure and pulmonary edema.

Sildenafil is a prescription drug that is sold under the brand name Revatio. Viagra was originally developed as a heart medication, but by the early 1990s, the FDA had approved it to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs) and heart failure. In the late 1990s, Viagra gained approval as a treatment for pulmonary hypertension, but it was soon discovered that the drug was not effective in treating this condition.

The company launched its new drug in September, but did not conduct any clinical tests or open clinical trials for the drug. In a statement, CVS said it was “disappointed that we did not submit a trial in December 2014, and are disappointed that we will not be filing a new patent in the near future.”

Sildenafil has a half-life of roughly 2.7 hours, meaning it can take about 4 hours for half the body to absorb the drug. Viagra is available in pill form for around 50 milligrams and is typically taken daily, although it may be prescribed for other conditions as well.

The drug’s manufacturer, Bayer HealthCare, also reported that the drug had a half-life of about 2.5 hours. The company’s website does not list the drug’s actual half-life, but the product’s manufacturer, Pfizer, does provide an explanation of how long Viagra should be taken.

“For many years, we’ve been conducting studies to determine the effects of Viagra on the cardiovascular system, and we’re continuing to do so,” said David Seidel, Bayer’s chief medical officer. “We’ve been using the Viagra in the United States for about a decade and we have no reason to believe that this drug will be effective in the future.”
